  • Invisible and Unheard: The Black Experience at Lexington High School (June 2020), survey organized by an anonymous group of LHS alums.
  • School Committee meeting on Jan 21, 2020: Equity Audit - Johnny Cole, Director of Equity & Student Supports video (starts at 2:30:00), meeting packet (p. 6)
    • This was in response to a process started in 2017-2018, before Superintendent Hackett's time, that looked at school discipline disparities for Black & brown students, as well as SPED students
    • Summer 2018, Superintendent worked with the Administrative Council to develop the Call to Action - the blueprint on how to address the issue
    • July 2019, the position of Director of Equity & Student Support was created at the request of the SC, to address this issue
    • The Equity Audit was going to conducted by an external vendor, at the cost of $40,000
    • Johnny Cole was new enough that it was decided he would lead the audit
