Expectations

Students at Lexington High School will...

1. Write clearly and effectively, producing work that is informative, well organized, and appropriate to its purpose.

2. Read and comprehend varied materials and be able to interpret and apply what they have read.

3. Speak clearly and effectively in a variety of contexts including academic discourse and oral presentations.

4. Gather data and critically evaluate the content, source, and relevance of that data.

5. Reason logically, using appropriate qualitative or quantitative methods, and use their analysis to answer questions and to solve problems.

6. Employ technology to gather, organize, and communicate information, to create and share visual images, and to investigate and solve problems.

7. Demonstrate an understanding of the political, social, cultural, or scientific context of knowledge.

8. Apply knowledge to address real world problems.

9. Demonstrate awareness of aesthetic principles such as theme, motif, pattern and symmetry.

LEADERSHIP

We define ourselves with our actions. We are creative and are willing to lead by example

PURPOSE

We develop specific goals for ourselves, and are thoughtful and deliberate in working toward those goals.

We do not take ourselves to seriously, and strive to see the humor in every situation while bringing a clever sensibility to bear upon intellectual challenges when appropriate

We are resourceful, work hard and always strive to do our best. We invest the time and effort to improve our skills and work habits
